Dr. Austin was born in Rochester, MN and grew up in the St. Paul area graduating from Mounds View High School. He did his undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He completed dental school at the University of Minnesota in 1985 and began his dental practice in St. Paul.
Dr. Austin resides in Vadnais Heights with his wife and four children. He enjoys spending time with his family, logging many hours in the hockey stands. He also enjoys gardening, fishing, skiing and sailing on White Bear Lake with the family.
Dr. Austin comes from a family with a great legacy in the dental profession. His father was an oral surgeon in the St. Paul area at the Austin Clinic from 1958-1999. His grandfather was a dentist at the Mayo Clinic from 1919-1966 where he served as head of Oral Surgery from the mid 1940's-1950's.
